Bible Preaching

The preaching of the Word of God is the most important part of the services at Grace. The Bible says in Titus 1:3 that God manifests His Word through preaching, and in 1 Corinthians 1:21 that it "pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe". We are commanded to "preach the Word" (2 Timothy 4:2), "preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15), and to "preach Christ crucified" (1 Corinthians 1:23). We believe that preaching is the biblical way of presenting truth for all to hear and know, preparing the believer to live a Christ-centered and God-honoring life, and pointing others to Christ Jesus.
Our Pastor preaches with great joy and enthusiasm, as a result of his deep love for God's Word. Sunday morning's sermons vary from evangelistic to exhortation, and sometimes God leads him to preach in a more direct way, as the Bible commands us to "Preach the Word...reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." Currently, he is doing a series on Heaven on Sunday evenings, and preaching through the book of Revelation on Wednesday evenings.
Sunday School & Bible Classes
We are very excited to offer classes for all ages from babies to senior adults each Sunday Morning at 10:00. We utilize this time to teach and train people in God's Word! Our teachers come prepared to enthusiastically educate students through the Bible so they may grow in grace, be strengthened in their faith, and have a firm foundation in the doctrines of the Baptist faith.
We make no apology that our beliefs and practices are fundamental in nature, because we believe that God's Word is perfectly preserved in the Authorized Version King James Bible, and that God meant what He said, said what He meant, and desires for us to know Him and His Word!

Music Program

Music is a big part of our services at Grace. God's Word is very clear that God created music to be used as a tool for the praise and worship of His goodness and His glory. We believe that the music program is the second most important part of the church service. It is a great tool the Holy Spirit uses to prepare the way for the preaching of the precious Word of God. We believe music is very powerful, and is the garden tiller that goes before the Gospel seed; the paver that lays the roadway on which the Gospel message travels. Therefore it is of the utmost importance that our music be of the highest caliber and quality.
Our music is conservative, sacred, and rich in its content. We strive for evangelistic music, meaning that the songs may give a testimony, teach doctrine, proclaim the Gospel, give an invitation, issue a warning, tell a story, or encourage, etc. We believe music for the sake of music is wrong, and that we must have purpose behind our songs. We do not use the modern genres of the Contemporary Christian Movement, or what is often referred to as "praise and worship" music.
Our adult choir embraces a traditional 4-part harmony style, bringing vibrant color to each song we sing. Our goal is to edify the saint, evangelize the sinner, and exalt the name of Jesus through song. Our congregational singing features songs like "Victory in Jesus", "There's Power in the Blood", "When We All Get To Heaven", and many more. We believe the tried-and-true hymns and gospel songs of the faith have stood the test of time, bearing witness that truly God-honoring music is timeless and spans all generations.
We embrace old-time singing, shouting, and praising the Lord! If you enjoy songs that'll stir your heart, lift your spirit, and glorify Jesus Christ, you'll love the music at Grace Baptist Church of Windy Gap!
Community Visitation
On a regular basis, our church family endeavors to go into the surrounding community to share the hope of the gospel. We are located in the Windy Gap community of North Wilkesboro, NC, which is Southeastern Wilkes County. Our home is the belt buckle of the Bible Belt of the United States of America. Wilkes County has more churches per capita than any county in the USA.
With that being said, there are scores of unreached people right here in our backyard, so we take the time to go out and knock on doors to invite folks to come to Grace, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and see if there is anything we can help them pray about. It's an honor to represent Christ to our community. Pray that our efforts will be fruitful and abundantly blessed.

Youth Ministry

We see the youth of our church as not only the church of tomorrow, but as part of the church today. We seek to invest in their lives by instilling the truths of God's Word at an early age. We offer Sunday School classes to help teach, train, and ensure a firm foundation of faith in their hearts. The Bible teaches us that it is primarily the parent's responsibility to train up a child in the way he should go, and without taking that duty away we want to encourage and contribute to that training by offering additional opportunities at Grace that will complement what is being done in the home.
We make sure they have multiple opportunities each week to sit under the preaching of the Word of God, because that is the most important thing they need. We also try to encourage camaraderie and fellowship by engaging in quarterly activities. We try to have fun, and also find ways to add to their faith. We actively participate in the ministry of Brother Seth Siceloff and TGFC (This Generation for Christ), by attending their many youth rallies, camps, and various opportunities they have throughout the year.
We love children at Grace, and we have kids of all ages ranging from newborns to college students. God has blessed us with a great opportunity to train a new generation of Christian leaders, and we don't take that opportunity lightly.ed the ups and downs of life. We take every opportunity to honor our seniors and provide opportunities for fellowship and Christian growth.
Deacons Ministry
Following the Bible's model and pattern for the qualifications and service of deacons, we have a small group of men, along with their wives, that assist the pastor in caring for the needs of the people of the church. It is the pastor's main responsibilities to pray, prepare, and preach God's Word. The office of a deacon is not viewed as a position of authority, but rather a position of service. The deacons are to serve the people in any way needed, as an extension of the pastor's office. They visit the shut-ins and the hospitalized, tend to the needs of church's widows, and are the first in availability for any work, ministry, or service at Grace Baptist Church. Without biblical deacons, the local New Testament Church would fail to meet God's standards in its efforts of ministry. Thank God for the deacons of Grace Baptist Church!
